NEMO Course: "Small Brains, Big Ideas – Biomedical Insights from Invertebrate".
This lecture and laboratory course will expose Latin-American students/Faculty to recent advances and modern techniques in neurosciences, using invertebrates as model systems. The course will primarily focus on Drosophila melanogaster and Caenorhabditis elegans, and the use of these animal models both in basic neuroscience and biomedical research.

Meeting: "5th International Meeting of the Latin American Society for Developmental Bology".
This corresponds to the bi-annual international meeting of the LASDB, which this year will be held in Chile. It will include several invited international speakers, and a practical course to be held in Santiago (November 2-11): "Concepts and Model Organism in Regenerative Biology".

The ceremony was directed by Prof. Dr. Cecilia Sepúlveda, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and inlcuded a conference of NEMO's Director Prof. Dr. Miguel Concha, words from Prof. Prof. Victor Perez (Head of the University of Chile), Prof. Dr. Miguel O'Ryan (Head of Research, U. of Chile), and Ms. Yolanda Gonzalez (Vice-Executive Director ICM, Mideplan)

NEMO Symposium: “Neural morphogenesis: from shape to function".
The symposium was held in the context of the VI Reunión de la Sociedad Chilena de Neurociencia, and included conferences of NEMO's principal investigators Miguel Concha, Claudio Hetz, Manuel Kukuljan and Jimena Sierralta.
